外国人如何申请居留许可？（中英）
外国人居留许可对象：
(1) 因外交、公务以外的原因需要在中国停留超过免签期限的免签证外国人；
(2) 需要离开船舶停泊城市的外国海员及其随行家属；
(3) 经批准退出中国国籍需要在中国停留的；
(4) 被终止居留的外国人，因人道主义原因需要在中国居留时间较长的；
(5) 在中国境内出生的需要在中国居留的外国婴儿；
(6) 其他需要外国人居留许可的情况。
(1) Visa-exempt foreigners who need to stay in China longer than the visa exemption period due to reasons other than diplomatic or official ones;
(2) Foreign seamen and their accompanying family members who need to leave the cities where their ships are mooring;
(3) Those who have been approved to renounce their Chinese nationality and need to stay in China;
(4) Foreigners whose reason for residence has been terminated and who need to stay in China longer for humanitarian reasons;
(5) Foreign infants born in China who need to stay in the country;
(6) Other circumstances necessitating a stay permit for foreigners.
外国人居留许可所需文件：
(1) 申请人的有效护照和签证原件；
(2) 填写完整的《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》，由申请人本人到当地公安机关出入境管理机构免费照相，或符合免签申请相关要求的申请人，需提交一张彩色证件照（ 6 个月内拍摄，白底， 2 寸，免冠，无修改，相纸打印，无污迹）；
(3) 境外人员临时住宿登机表
Required documents:
(1) The applicant's original, valid passport and visa;
(2) A completed Visa and Residence Permit Application Form for Foreigners, and the applicant shall go to the local exit-entry administration of public security organs in person to take a free photograph, or the applicant who meet the relevant requirement of applying for visa without come in person shall submit one color identification photo (taken within 6 months, white background, 2-inch, bareheaded, without modification, photographic paper printed, without smears);
(3) Registration form of temporary residence for visitors.
符合申请理由的证明文件
(1) 免签证外国人应当提供与入境事由有关的签证通知书相应的申请材料；
(2) 外籍船员应当提交海员证（或者其他国际旅行证件）、船务代理机构出具的验证函、确定日期和座位的机票、船票、火车票以及随行家属的亲属关系证明；
(3) 被批准放弃中国国籍的，应当提交《退出中国国籍证明》、外国护照（或其他国际旅行证件）和证明停留事由的文件；
(4) 外国人居留事由终止的，应当提交终止证明；
(5) 在中国境内出生的外籍婴儿，应提交出生证明（含附页）和父母双方有效护照（或其他旅行证件）原件及复印件；
(6) 证明其他中止事由的有关文件；

外国人居留许可注意
1. 公安机关出入境管理机构认为必要时，可要求申请人参加面试或提交补充证明材料(如经济支持证明、姓名等信息变更证明、经营证明等)。如申请人未能在规定时间内提供所需资料，申请将会被拒绝，但不可抗力事件除外。
2. 公安机关出入境管理机构对普通签证延期、换发、补发申请的不予受理，对外国人申请居留证件、居留证件延期的不予办理的，为最终决定。
1. Exit-entry administrations of public security organs may, as they deem necessary, require applicants to attend an interview or submit additional supporting documents (such as proof of financial support, proof of change of information such as name, or business operation certificate, etc.). Applications which fail to provide the requisite information within the required time will be rejected, unless caused by a force majeure event.
2. All decisions of exit-entry administrations of public security organs rejecting applications for extension, replacement or re-issuance of ordinary visas, or rejecting foreigners’ applications for residence permits or permit extensions, shall be final.
